Booking Acceptance Rules

To ensure a smooth experience, Gurus must accept booking requests within specific timeframes depending on when the booking was made:

1. Bookings made 0–12 hours before session

Gurus may accept the booking anytime up until the scheduled session start time.
If the Guru does not take action before the session begins, the booking will automatically expire, and the payment hold will be released back to the Learner.

Example: A Learner books at 9:00 AM for a session at 3:00 PM the same day. The Guru has until 3:00 PM to accept the booking. If no action is taken by then, the booking will expire and no payment will be processed.

2. Bookings made 12–48 hours before session

Guru must accept at least 4 hours before the scheduled session start.
If the Guru does not act by the deadline, the booking will expire and funds will be released back to the Learner.

Example: A Learner books at 9:00 AM on Monday for a session at 9:00 AM on Tuesday. The Guru must accept by 5:00 AM Tuesday.

3. Bookings made more than 48 hours and less than 5 days before session

Guru must accept at least 12 hours before the scheduled session start.
If no action is taken, the booking will expire and funds will be released back to the Learner.

Example: A Learner books on Monday at 9:00 AM for a session on Wednesday at 9:00 AM. The Guru must accept by Tuesday at 9:00 PM.

4. Bookings made more than 5 days before session

Guru must accept within 5 days of the booking time.
If no action is taken, the booking will expire and funds will be released back to the Learner.

Example: A Learner books on January 1 for a session on January 20. The Guru must accept by January 6.

Fund Release Rules

Accepted & Completed Sessions: Payment is processed after both Learner and Guru confirm completion. BookMyGuru may verify session status before releasing payout.
Expired or Rejected Sessions: Payment hold is immediately released back to the Learner’s original payment method.
Disputes: If the Learner or Guru indicates the session did not take place, BookMyGuru will investigate and resolve before funds are released.

Payout to Gurus

Once BookMyGuru processes the payout, funds are transferred to the Guru’s connected account with our payment partners (e.g., Stripe, Payoneer).

Depending on the Guru’s bank and country, it may take 2–7 business days for the payout to appear in their bank account.

BookMyGuru is not responsible for delays caused by banks, weekends, or holidays.
